No single adventure in Africa is greater than conquering Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro and the African continent. With 5,895 meters and the famous glaciers (which get smaller year after year), the imposing Kili is protected by the surrounding national park and the climb to the top takes at least 5 days. It can be done by 7 main routes: Marangu, Machame, Rongai, Lemosho, Shira, Umbwe and Northern Circuit.
Each route has pros and cons, but all offer spectacular views of Moshi and the base villages, as well as the various stages of the climb. A true adventure to keep for a lifetime, and although accessible to most mortals, it requires knowledge, serious preparation and proper execution.
