Cape Town's most famous attraction lends its name to Table Mountain National Park, a collection of conservation areas across the entire Cape Peninsula. In addition to the iconic mountain, other sectors such as Cape Point (Cape of Good Hope), Signal Hill, Lions Head, Silvermine and Boulders allow visitors to have intense contact with nature and many sports possibilities: trekking, mountain bike, surf, windsurf, kitesurf, paraglider, diving ... For those who prefer a more contemplative experience, it is possible to see ostriches, antelopes, penguins, dolphins, seals and with some luck, even whales.
The top of Table Mountain offers one of the most privileged views of "Mother City" and Cape Peninsula. It can be accessed comfortably by the rotating cable car or by several trails, with varying degrees of difficulty. The most used is Platteklip Gorge, about 2.5 km up the mountain.
