The entire Indian Ocean coastline known as the Garden Route has incredible beaches, but Plettenberg Bay is breathtaking. Named Bahia Formosa by Portuguese navigators, the first to explore the region, Plettenberg Bay (or simply Plett) is located at the mouth of Keurbooms River. The beaches and cliffs have rare scenic beauty and abundant marine fauna. The region also has great hotels and restaurants.
The main beaches of Plett - Central, Lookout, Robberg - and the neighboring areas offer ecological tours, sea and land sports. Dolphins and seals are regular residents of the coast, often visited by whales in their migratory movements. After a bungy jump in Bloukrans, nothing better than relaxing on one of Plett's spectacular beaches.
