The Zanzibar archipelago consists of two main islands, Unguja and Pemba. The island of Unguja is best known by its Arabic name, curiously also known as Zanzibar. It has charm and excellent hotel infrastructure. Nungwi, in the far north, maintains the tradition of fishing village and construction of traditional wooden boats. Paje, in the southeast, is perfect for kitesurfing. Each region of the island has distinct characteristics, which greatly influence the experience of each visitor.
