Extreme southwestern point and a major attraction of the African continent, the famous Cape of Good Hope is stunning and a must. If all of its historical symbology and drama was not enough in the verses of Camões in Lusíadas, the reserve has unique charm and magnetism. It is officially called Cape Point, opposite from the Cape of Good Hope by the incredible Diaz Beach. This is the southernmost portion of Cape Peninsula and Table Mountain National Park.
The full Cape Peninsula tour from Cape Town includes visits at Hout Bay, Chapmans Peak Drive and Boulders. But Cape Point justifies the reputation as a top attraction, with wild beaches, rock formations, lighthouses, trails and endemic fauna of the region: ostriches, baboons, zebras and elands (the largest antelope). Whales, seals and dolphins are also frequent visitors. According to an old local legend, it is the center of the universe.
