Hermanus is a mere 90 minutes or 122 km from Cape Town, offering to the visitors beautiful beaches, excellent trekking, numerous and diverse attractions in the surroundings and proximity to both Cape Winelands region and the Garden Route.

Whales are distinguished visitors to the coast from June to December, stopping at Hermanus to breed and feed their young during the migratory movement.
