Addo Elephant National Park is the traditional game park in the Eastern Cape Province, close to the historic university town of Grahamstown and just over an hour from Port Elizabeth Airport. Famous for its elephants and for being considered the only Big 7 park on the planet - the traditional Big 5 plus the white shark and the humpback whale, as part of the park goes as far as the Indian Ocean coast.
The park's surroundings also have some internationally acclaimed private reserves, such as Shamwari (great for families with children) and Kwandwe (perfect for honeymooners). Great options for a second safari experience in South Africa, for travellers exploring the Garden Route and avoiding to travel to the Kruger region, or for those who prefer a 100% malaria-free region.
