More than one million wildebeests and two hundred thousand zebras move annually on the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, following the impositions of dry and rainy seasons. The inevitable encounter with predators and the crossing of crocodile-infested rivers are classic scenes of migration: Serengeti is the supreme stage of action, one of the largest and most notorius conservation areas on the planet.
The boundaries of Serengeti ecosystem, which in the Masai language means "endless plains", do not end at the border between Tanzania and Kenya, thus allowing migration to proceed to the Masai Mara Park domains, just across the border.
