Projects are underway to create a common immigration zone for all Southern African countries, but not yet reality. Some nationalities do not need visas for stays of up to 30 or 90 days in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Mauritius, Reunion, Seychelles and Maldives. Some countries, such as Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Madagascar, can issue a visa upon arrival, but only at certain borders and airports. In most cases it is advisable or mandatory to arrange visas in advance. Some countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda now have easy e-visa systems and unified visas are available for some countries (East Africa visa for Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda). As rules change often, always check carefully when planning your trip. We inform all visa requirements according to each case.
